Oval Diamond Halo Engagement Ring

The epitome of elegance, the centre diamond in our OVO engagement ring in platinum and rose gold has been masterfully cut to form a perfect oval shape. Exuding radiance and timeless allure, its elongated silhouette gives the illusion of a larger stone compared to a round brilliant diamond. Set in platinum and accompanied by a scallop set halo of brilliant cut diamonds, the OVO is paired with a rose gold band for a mixed-metal look that is incredibly modern.
How to Care for Your Diamond and Gemstone Jewellery

Diamonds and gemstones are beautiful precious stones that can provide a lifetime of joy if you look after them properly. With the right care and attention, it is possible to maintain the condition of your diamond and gemstone jewellery so that it continues to shine bright and the stones don’t lose their sparkle.

To preserve the beauty of your Budrevich jewellery for many years to come, our guide to jewellery care includes advice on cleaning, storage and repairs. If you have any further questions after reading the guide, please get in touch with us directly and we will be happy to advise.

Jewellery care

There are a few simple rules to follow when it comes to caring for your diamond and gemstone jewellery. Follow the simple rules below will help maintain the condition of your jewels.

- Avoiding contact with household chemicals, including perfume, hairspray, cosmetics and lotion, and exposure to intense heat sources extreme temperatures
- Always remove your jewellery when you go swimming
- Gold jewellery is very sensitive to household bleach, which may cause the precious metal to discolour, erode or even disintegrate
- It is also a good idea to remove your rings when washing your hands, although we do not advise doing this when you are out – in a restaurant, café or other public place – as there is always a risk that you will forget to put your jewellery back on and leave it behind
- We recommend removing jewellery before going to bed because chains can get caught and earrings can cause irritation or come unfastened as your sleep
- Avoid bumping or banging it on hard and abrasive surfaces, like worktops

Diamonds may be the hardest material on earth, but it is still possible to chip them, and precious metals may become scratched or dented if they come into contact with hard materials. To protect your diamond and gemstone jewellery from damage, remove it before carrying out any heavy lifting or strenuous labour.
Cleaning your jewellery at home

Clean your diamond and gemstone jewellery regularly at home using warm soapy water and a very soft brush, then rinse with lukewarm water. Polish gold or platinum with a soft cloth and avoid using alcohol wipes when cleaning. At the same time as giving your jewels some TLC, check their overall condition and inspect the settings and prongs, which are particularly susceptible to damage. If you do notice any damage, however small, please get in touch and we can take a look.

Professional cleaning

As part of our after-sales service at Budrevich, we invite you to bring your jewels in annually for a clean, polish and professional check. To ensure you don’t forget, after 12 months we will send you a reminder email.

While your jewels are with us, they will be thoroughly cleaned in an ultrasonic machine and high-pressure steam machine, which will remove any gunk, grit and dirt, restore the shine of your diamonds and gemstones, and sanitise the precious metal.

Storing your jewellery

Always store your jewellery somewhere clean and dry. The protective boxes and pouches that are provided with each Budrevich jewel have a special tarnish-proof lining and are ideal. This will prevent scratching or gemstone damage when they interact with one another and unnecessary tangles. As a malleable element, gold is particularly susceptible to scratching when it rubs against diamonds and gemstones.

If you would prefer to store your diamond and gemstone jewellery in a jewellery box, make sure yours has different compartments or slots so that your jewels can be kept separate.

Quite simply, my engagement ring designed by and purchased from Budrevich is my favourite possession, not just due to the sentimental value that has been amplified by his time and care taken to collaborate with my partner to create my dream ring, but also because of the exquisite craftsmanship and quality that can not be rivaled elsewhere. On professional valuation, the gentleman viewing my ring complimented us continuously on the exceptional quality of not only the stone, but the setting also. Being a lover of designer quality I was tempted by a well known fine jewellery brand, but could not be happier with my one of a kind Budrevich of equal quality. I strongly urge anyone to visit here before making a decision on any special jewellery purchaces!

These are the most frequently asked questions. If you have any questions, please contact us.

A halo ring is not only a beautiful choice - it also has other practical benefits, with the halo of diamonds giving the illusion of a larger centre stone while also protecting it from damage.

The history of halo rings can be traced all the way back to the Georgian era, so it is safe to say that halo rings are a style that will endure. Engagement ring trends come and go, but a halo design is a modern classic, with different options to suit everyone, from vintage cluster styles to coloured centre stones and double or even triple halos of diamonds for maximum impact.

To create the shimmering effect that is associated with a halo engagement ring, small melée stones are set in a cluster style setting. At Budrevich we select our halo diamonds with the same attention to quality as our solitaire stones.

A diamond halo is a great way to make your engagement ring look bigger, but always bear the proportion of the diamonds in mind. Don’t go crazy with size because the halo is supposed to highlight the centre stone and not the other way around.

A good halo ring will have excellent, balanced proportions between the centre stone and the halo, and check that the centre stone sits centrally within the halo and is not raised too high within it, which often occurs when rings are mass manufactured. We also recommend asking the question: is the ring Wed-Fit? At Budrevich, we can custom make your halo ring to be Wed-Fit, but this is not common practice.
